We don’t know about you, but we will be glad to see the back of Winter! That means we are already planning lots of improvements and other works for The Meadow over the coming year.
We wanted to give you a little sneak peek at some of the things we’re planning to do. If you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions, please do get in touch.
Hedging / Underway
You may have already seen that we have planted some hedging near the main entrance by the planter. We will be continuing that along the fence line this year. We have already planted some hawthorn on the outer edge but that will take a few years to really establish itself.
We are adding the hedging for a couple of reasons, the first being that we want it to look pretty! The second is privacy. We know that our visitors value their privacy and want to ensure that when they are exercising their dogs off-lead they won’t have too much distraction from the outside world or passersby.
Topsy’s Orchard / Underway
The area right at the top of The Meadow has now been completely cleared ready for works to begin. There wont be much going on this year as we need to first kill off all the brambles and weeds then seed the ground with grass later on this year.
Once that has all been done, hopefully, next year we will be able to start work on opening that area up and adding some fun activities such as flyball.
The Track / Planned
When you drive down towards the cabin you’ll notice that it’s a “bit” bumpy. We will be having some work done in Autumn time to get it prepared for Winter so that we don’t have the same issues that we had last year.
We’re hoping to make that area much nicer for visitors to be able to load and unload their dogs without getting caked in mud!
Wash Station / Planned
You may have seen the hose that we have in the in/out gate at the moment. Well, during Summer we will be doing a major upgrade and installing a purpose made washing station ready for winter.
This wash station will enable visitors to properly wash down their dogs and get them ready for the ride home.
